How to choose an activity

Not sure where to start? Four questions get you to the right experience.

Start with time

How long do you have? Up to 2h suits a market walk or a show; a half-day (≈4h) fits one cooking class or food tour; a full day covers travel plus one big site; multi-day is for cruises and treks.

Then interest

Pick the experience that pulls you: food & cooking, culture & heritage, water & nature, or adventure. Every activity is tagged so you can filter to the ones that fit.

Match the pace

Be honest about energy and mobility. "Easy" works for all ages and needs no fitness; "moderate" means some walking or light hiking; "challenging" is a real trek. The Guided Finder lets you set this.

Private vs join-in

All our activities run private by default — just your party plus a local guide. Choose join-in only when you actively want to meet other travellers. Private means your pace, your pickup time.

Compare activities

Pick up to 3 and see them side by side.

Select activities above to compare them.

Practical planning

A few things worth knowing before you lock in your activities.

When to go

Most activities run year-round. Coastal cruises and kayaking are calmest in the dry months; the green season brings short afternoon showers — good for cooking classes, markets and temples. Tell us your dates and we’ll flag anything weather-sensitive.

How far ahead to book

Signature experiences (overnight cruises, sunrise temple visits) fill up in peak season — book a few weeks ahead where you can. For most activities we confirm directly with the operator within an hour of your request.

What to bring

Light layers, comfortable shoes, sun protection and water cover almost everything. Temple visits need shoulders and knees covered; treks and kayaking need proper footwear. Each activity page lists its own specifics.

If plans change

Weather turns or someone falls ill? We re-schedule free of charge with 48 hours’ notice — no cancellation fee, unlike fixed OTA bookings.

Activities FAQ

Everything we get asked about activities

What are the most-booked activities in Southeast Asia?

Across our 4 countries the top 5 are: (1) Hoi An cooking class with market visit · $45 · 4h · (2) Angkor Wat sunrise private tuk-tuk · $35 · 6h · (3) Ha Long Bay overnight junk cruise · $165 · 2d · (4) Luang Prabang dawn alms-giving · $25 · 2h · (5) Bangkok street food walking tour · $55 · 4h.

Are these activities private or group tours?

All private. We do not operate scheduled group departures · every activity is just you (and your party) + a local English-speaking guide + private vehicle. Most activities in this region work better solo or as a couple anyway.

How are these different from booking on Klook or GetYourGuide?

Three real differences: (1) Direct operator price — OTAs add 15-25% markup · (2) Hotel pickup at your time, not a fixed 7:30am meeting point · (3) Free re-booking up to 48h before with no fee. We are a direct DMC, not a reseller.

Can I book a single activity without a full tour?

Yes. Standalone half/full-day activities start at $25/pax (group of 2). Most travelers combine 4-6 activities across a 7-14 day private tour · we handle the sequencing and transport between them.

What if the weather is bad on the day?

We re-schedule free of charge with 48h notice. Ha Long cruise affected by typhoon? We move to a different bay or different week. Outdoor cooking class rained out? We switch to the indoor kitchen variant. OTAs charge 50-100% within 24h · we just adjust.

What's included in the activity price?

Standard inclusions: English-speaking local guide · private hotel pickup/drop-off · entrance fees · meals listed (e.g. lunch in cooking class) · drinking water. Not included: international flights · visa · personal insurance · tips.

Which activity is best for kids age 6-12?

Top 3 for that age range: (1) Hoi An lantern-making + cycling · 3h · safe pace · (2) Cambodia floating village + Tonle Sap · 4h · easy boat · (3) Chiang Mai ethical elephant sanctuary · 6h · zero riding · just feeding and bathing. Tell us the age and we will tailor.
