Family travel experiences
Real stories from real families who travelled Vietnam & Cambodia with us — kids 4 to 16, multigenerational groups, single-parent trips. Pacing, dietary, stroller-access, and rest-stop strategies, all from people who've been there.
Family stories are pacing-first: slower itineraries, kid-friendly food checked at every step, stroller routes when needed, and at least one guide who's parented kids of similar age. The 12 stories below span Hanoi, Hoi An, HCMC, Halong, and Siem Reap — most are 7-14 day trips with kids 4-12.

Family · frequently asked
What age range works best for a first Asia trip?+
Most family stories cluster at kids ages 5-12. Under 4 works if you accept slower pacing & stroller-friendly routes (Halong day trips OK · multi-night cruises tougher). Teens 13+ engage well with cultural depth (Cu Chi · Angkor) when framed age-appropriately. Read individual stories above to match your kids' ages to similar trips.
How do you handle dietary needs at scale (picky eaters, allergies)?+
Every guide is briefed on dietary notes 48hrs before the trip · we pre-call restaurants in your itinerary · and we provide a backup-snack pack for first 3 days while kids adjust. Picky-eater stories above (Jen M · Hoi An cooking class) show how this works in practice. Severe allergies (nut · shellfish) need 14-day advance notice for safe sourcing.
Are guides comfortable with kids — or just adults?+
All our senior guides have either parented kids of similar age OR completed our child-engagement training (game library · age-appropriate framing of historical sites · pacing for short attention spans). We pair you with a guide whose kids' ages roughly match yours when possible.
What's the ideal trip length for a family of 4-5?+
7-14 days. Shorter than 7 = rushed (jet-lag + 1-2 cities + airport days eat half your time). Longer than 14 = kids fatigue out unless you build in 2-3 beach rest days mid-trip. Stories above cluster at 8-12 days for a reason. We'll customise per your kids' ages & tolerance.
